Privacy Policy

When you sign up we collect your name, email address, year level, and state.

As you use the platform we track things like which features you use, questions you attempt, exam scores, time spent, and how your performance changes over time. This is how the platform learns what you need help with.

If you use the assignment grader, you'll upload assignments and rubrics. That content gets processed to give you feedback.

Conversations with the AI chatbot and other AI tools may be stored to improve how the platform works.

Payments go through a third-party processor. We never see or store your full card details.

We also collect standard technical data like IP addresses, browser type, and device type for security and to understand how the platform is being used.

We use your data to run your account, power the AI tools, process your subscription, track your progress and generate personalised insights like ATAR estimates, send you important service updates, and detect fraud or abuse.

We don't sell your information to anyone.

When you use the chatbot, assignment grader, question bank, or ATAR calculator, your inputs go through our AI systems. Some of those systems are run by third-party AI providers. We take reasonable steps to make sure those providers only use your data to deliver the service, not for anything else.

ATAR estimates and predicted grades are generated automatically. They aren't stored as official records anywhere.

Some features — including the ATAR Calculator and Assignment Grader — use automated processing to generate estimates, scores, or feedback based on the information you provide (such as your subject results, assignment content, or rubric). These outputs are generated automatically, without a human reviewing each individual result before you see it.

These are indicative study tools, not official records or decisions — see 'AI Tools and Platform Features' in our Terms for details on each tool's limitations. If you have questions about how a particular estimate or piece of feedback was generated, contact us at support@examiq.au.

Most of our users are under 18 and we take that seriously. We don't collect more information than we need from any user, and we don't use student data for advertising or profiling. If you're a parent with concerns about your child's account, get in touch and we can sort out access or deletion.

We share your information with service providers who help us run the platform. These include cloud hosting, payment processors, and AI providers, all of whom are bound by confidentiality agreements.

We'll also share data with authorities if we're required to by law or to protect user safety.

That's it. No selling, renting, or trading.

Your account data, study data, and AI conversation data are stored and processed on servers located in Australia. Payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider as part of a global payment network, which may involve data being processed outside Australia as part of standard international payment infrastructure.

We apply encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your data.

No system is completely foolproof. We do everything reasonable to protect your data but can't promise perfect security.

If we experience a data breach that's likely to result in serious harm to you, we'll notify both you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, in line with our obligations under the Privacy Act's Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

We keep your account and usage data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to hold onto it for financial or compliance reasons.

Assignment content you upload isn't kept beyond what's needed to run the tool unless you've explicitly saved it in the platform yourself.

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask to see what data we hold on you, request a correction if something's wrong, ask us to delete your account and data, and opt out of non-essential emails.

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how people use the platform. You can manage cookies in your browser settings, though turning some off may affect how things work.

The platform may link to outside websites. We're not responsible for their privacy practices.

When this policy changes in a meaningful way we'll notify you by email or in the app. The date at the top always shows when it was last updated.
